To prevent total annihilation, the Goddess used the sacred Mana Sword to bind the evil deep within the Mana Fortress—a flying fortress originally built as a weapon by an ancient civilization. For centuries, the Eight Spirits maintained the balance of nature, empowering the Mana Stones, but they were not direct guardians of the seal. However, human greed and ambition eventually led to the discovery of the fortress. When the seal was broken prematurely, the corruption leaked out, transforming the peaceful lands into twisted wastelands. The Darkness does not just destroy; it perverts magic itself, turning the elemental Stones into tools of destruction rather than protection. The entity's goal is simple: consume the Mana Tree to gain ultimate power over life and death. It manipulates minions and constructs from its shadowy essence, seeking to drain the world dry. The final battle takes place at the Mana Fortress itself, where the heroes use the Mana Sword and purified Mana Stones to destroy the Mana Beast—not to re-seal it, but to eliminate it entirely.
